Planning from abroad

A Kerala wedding, planned from anywhere

The wedding happens in Kerala. You do not have to. Our team is on the ground here; the planning runs on video calls in your evening, and every decision, design and payment lives in a portal you can open from any timezone.

The record

200+ NRI weddings

Eight years of planning weddings for families in the Gulf, the US, the UK and beyond — alongside the weddings we run for families at home in Kerala.

The portal

Your couple portal

Designs, budgets, approvals, payments and the guest list in one place. Nothing is decided on a phone call that is not confirmed in writing there.

The cadence

Video calls, your evening

Venue walkthroughs, design reviews and tastings-by-proxy, scheduled for after your workday — not ours.

The ground

A team already here

Venue negotiations, vendor management, licence and parish coordination — done in person by a local team that does this every week.

How it runs, start to finish

The first call establishes the shape: the community the wedding follows, the month, the guest count, and what the family will not compromise on. From there we send a shortlist of venues with real numbers — capacity, rooms, per-plate ranges — not brochures.

Venue visits happen twice: once on video with us walking the property, and once in person on your single planning trip, when we compress the shortlist into a day or two of visits, the food tasting and the family sit-down. The design of the wedding — the stage, the decor, the flow of the day — is reviewed over video calls and approved in the portal.

By the time you land for the wedding week, there is nothing left to decide. The schedule is printed in two timezones, the vendors are contracted and paid on the schedule you approved, and the team that has been on every call is the team standing at the venue.

Who plans Kerala weddings for families living abroad?

The Kerala Wedding Collective plans and designs Kerala weddings for NRI families. The group behind it has planned more than 200 NRI weddings over eight years. Planning is run over video calls with a couple portal for designs, budgets and payments, and most overseas couples make one trip to Kerala before the wedding week.

What families abroad ask us

Can you plan a Kerala wedding if we live abroad?

Yes — that is most of what we do. Our group has planned more than 200 NRI weddings over the last eight years for families in the Gulf, the US, the UK and beyond. Planning runs on scheduled calls and video calls in your evening hours, every decision is closed in writing in your couple portal, and most overseas couples visit Kerala once before the wedding week.

How do we see venues without flying to Kerala?

We walk the venue on a video call with you — the lawns, the hall, the rooms, the kitchen — and follow up with photographs, floor plans and the venue’s current rates in your portal. When you do fly in, we compress the shortlist into one or two days of visits so a single trip settles it.

How does a muhurtham work when the family is in another timezone?

The muhurtham is fixed in Kerala time by your astrologer, and everything else is planned backwards from it. We convert the whole wedding-day schedule into both timezones for the family abroad, and we schedule the planning calls across the year in your evening, not ours.

How do payments work from overseas?

Through the couple portal, against a written schedule you approve before anything is booked. Venue and vendor advances in Kerala are handled by us on the ground; you see every line and every receipt in one place rather than wiring money to a dozen vendors you have never met.

How many trips to Kerala will we actually need?

Usually one before the wedding week itself. That trip covers the venue decision, the food tasting and the family sit-down. Everything else — design reviews, vendor selection, the guest logistics — happens over video calls and the portal.

Can you manage guests flying in from abroad?

Yes. Room blocks at the venue or nearby, airport pickups from Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut or Kannur, and a wedding-week schedule shared with every guest. Kerala’s four international airports mean most Gulf and Southeast Asia guests fly in direct.
