Two practical notes that shape more Kochi weddings than any brochure fact: the airport is 40 minutes from Marine Drive on a good day and half again in wedding-season traffic, so a fly-in guest list often does better at the Angamaly–Nedumbassery belt than in town; and the harbour hotels book their best banquet slots around the muhurtham clusters nearly a year out.
Planning a wedding in Kochi
- Getting there. Cochin International Airport (COK) at Nedumbassery, north of the city. Venues in the Angamaly and Nedumbassery belt are closest to it; Marine Drive and Fort Kochi are a longer drive through the city.
- The ceremony booking. Kochi has churches, temples and mosques of every tradition in the state. Book the church, temple or mahal slot before the hall, because the ceremony hour decides when the hall must be ready.
- The cook. Hotels here generally cook in their own kitchens. If a family cook matters to you, confirm in writing that the venue allows an outside caterer before you book it.
