CIAL's site gives the main hall as 29,000 sq ft in one paragraph and 30,000 sq ft in another, pillarless and air-conditioned, with two meeting halls of 1,500 and 1,000 sq ft. It prints no guest capacity, so ask for the seated figure for a sadya in sittings.

Day-hire halls in Kerala often allow an appointed caterer, sometimes for a kitchen or access charge; CIAL’s site does not say. Get the rule and any charge in writing before you book a cook.

Makaram (roughly mid-January to mid-February) and Vrischikam (mid-November to mid-December) are Kerala's crowded wedding months, and a venue's good dates in them go first, so ask CIAL Convention Centre about your date as soon as the astrologer or the parish gives it. Dates in the quieter months, or on a weekday, usually stay open longer.

Ask CIAL Convention Centre which unit the quote is in, how many sittings are included, what the count is taken from, and by when it has to be confirmed. Ask the same question separately for the non-vegetarian menu if you are serving one, because the two are often contracted differently.

Auspicious times in Kerala often fall very early — a ceremony at half past five in the morning is ordinary, not unusual. That decides more than the alarm clock. It means the kitchen has been working through the night, the hall was dressed the previous evening, and breakfast for the whole party lands immediately after the ceremony rather than as a separate meal later. Ask CIAL Convention Centre whether an early muhurtham carries any additional staffing charge, what time the team can begin setting up the night before, and whether the room can be held from the previous evening. Settle it at the quote stage; it is much harder to renegotiate once the date is fixed against a time.
